Apple is integrating ChatGPT into experiences within iOS, iPadOS, and macOS with Apple Intelligence, which will allow users to access ChatGPT’s capabilities—including image and document understanding—without needing to jump between tools.

If you choose to allow your Apple device to work with ChatGPT, you can use Siri to access ChatGPT.

Siri can tap into ChatGPT to provide answers when that might be helpful for certain requests, including questions about photos and documents. By default, Siri will request confirmation before tapping into ChatGPT.

If you’d like to have Siri send requests to ChatGPT automatically without confirming, you can start your question to Siri with “Ask ChatGPT….”, or:

  1. Go to Settings, then tap Apple Intelligence & Siri

  2. Tap ChatGPT

  3. Toggle Confirm ChatGPT Requests Off

Siri will always ask permission before sending a file to ChatGPT. You can learn more about Apple Intelligence and Siri here.
