Overview
Sign in with ChatGPT is an identity-provider sign-in option that lets you use identity information from your ChatGPT account to create, link, or access an account with a supported external application. You can use it when signing in on a participating partner site or, where supported, when connecting an app from the ChatGPT plugin directory. When available, select Sign in with ChatGPT or Continue with ChatGPT.
Availability
Sign in with ChatGPT is available globally to authenticated ChatGPT users, including users in Enterprise organizations.
It is available on OpenAI Academy and ChatGPT Sites and is rolling out across select plugins and partner sites. Initial participating partners include Airtable, GitLab, HubSpot, Notion, Supabase, and Vercel.
Availability for members of an organization also depends on the organization’s admin settings.
This availability describes identity sign-in. Additional access to connected apps or ChatGPT Ads depends on the separate authorization and administrator controls for that product.
Use Sign in with ChatGPT
Go to a participating partner’s sign-in page or begin connecting a supported app from the ChatGPT plugin directory.
Select Sign in with ChatGPT or Continue with ChatGPT, if available.
Review the identity information shown in the sign-in flow.
Continue only if you want to create, link, or access an account with the external application.
Review and approve any additional permissions separately.
Information shared with an external application
For identity sign-in, the external application receives only your name, email address, and profile picture, if you have one.
Sign in with ChatGPT does not independently share:
Your ChatGPT conversations or memory.
Your files or tokens.
Your billing information or other ChatGPT account data.
An application can separately request delegated access to specific data and actions. For example, a ChatGPT Site can request access to your connected apps, or HubSpot can request access to your ChatGPT Ads account.
Review the requested permissions before authorizing access. Organization approval makes the access available; you still complete the authorization flow using your own product permissions.

Privacy and data OpenAI collects
When you use Sign in with ChatGPT, OpenAI collects and processes information needed to authenticate you, apply organization settings, complete the authorization, and protect the sign-in flow. Depending on your sign-in method, device, and organization settings, this may include:
Your OpenAI account information, such as account identifiers, email address, authentication provider, and selected workspace or organization, when applicable
Details about the external application and authorization, such as the application identifier, requested and approved permissions, authorization decision, and sign-in outcome
Technical and security information, such as request and session identifiers, IP address, location information inferred from the request, browser or app version, user agent, device identifiers, and security signals
This description of OpenAI’s processing is separate from the information released to the external application. Review the previous section for what the application receives. Any additional application access requires a separate permission flow.
Manage access for your organization
By default, Sign in with ChatGPT is enabled for organizations that have not set an explicit identity policy. Existing allow or deny policies, including approved-application lists, remain in effect.
Global admins manage organization-level application permissions in External access in the OpenAI Admin Console. A workspace owner or admin does not automatically have permission to change these tenant-level settings.
Identity sign-in and delegated data access are separate permissions. During the admin preview for ChatGPT Business and Enterprise customers, delegated access for ChatGPT Sites and Ads is off by default and requires explicit admin approval. Admin approval does not replace the member’s authorization or existing product permissions.

Troubleshoot sign-in
If you do not see Sign in with ChatGPT, the external application might not support it, it might not be available to your account yet, or your organization’s admin policy might restrict it. Use another sign-in method offered by the application or contact your organization admin.
If sign-in succeeds but an application cannot access the data it requests, check its separate authorization requirements. Members of ChatGPT Business and Enterprise organizations may need a global admin to approve the relevant delegated access before completing authorization.
