What information is shared when I use SearchGPT?
To search and answer your questions, SearchGPT may share de-identified search queries with third-party search providers. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
We collect and share general location information based on your IP address with third-party search providers to improve the accuracy of your results. You can choose to share more precise location information to help give the best results by updating your controls in the settings menu.
SearchGPT conversations may be reviewed and used to improve our search functionality. You can adjust your preferences for improving our services in the settings menu. Any changes will carry over between ChatGPT and SearchGPT.
Your SearchGPT conversation history is separate from your ChatGPT chat history. If you wish to delete either history, you must do so separately in each service.
How do I update my location sharing settings with SearchGPT?
We collect and share with third-party search providers general location information to improve the accuracy of your results. You can update the location sharing settings for SearchGPT by clicking on your profile icon and selecting Settings:
You can adjust your preferences for sharing your precise location by toggling the Share precise location setting on or off.
Browsers like Chrome also allow you to enable or disable location sharing with SearchGPT. Updating these settings can also enable or disable precise location sharing from your browser.
Please note that if you choose not to share precise location information, we’ll still use general location data based on your IP address.
Can I disable the use of conversations to improve SearchGPT?
Yes, you can adjust your preferences for improving our search functionality in the settings menu by toggling the Improve search for everyone setting on or off.
What happens when I delete my search conversations?
Deleted search conversations are hard deleted from our systems within 30 days, unless they have previously been de-identified and disassociated from your account or we have to keep them for security or legal reasons. Deleting search logs will also mean that your search queries will not be used in the future to improve our search features (unless they have previously been de-identified and disassociated from your account).
