Accessing the Launcher - ChatGPT macOS app
Updated over 7 months ago

We have rolled out access to the ChatGPT macOS app to a small portion of our users, and plan to enable access to all of our users later this year.

You can use the launcher to instantly ask ChatGPT anything, upload files, take a screenshot, or take a photo.

To open the launcher, press ⌥+ Space. You can change this shortcut in the Settings menu in the ChatGPT macOS app.

You can also open the launcher from the menu bar shortcut, where you can find your current shortcuts:

You can drag the launcher window anywhere on the desktop.

You can start a new conversation with ChatGPT directly in the launcher. To submit your prompt, you can click on the arrow or press the Return button.

You can attach a file or photo, take a screenshot, or take a photo when you start a new conversation by clicking on the paperclip icon and selecting Upload File.

You can kick off a conversation by requesting data analysis on a CSV file, or ask a question about an attached image directly from the launcher.

You can change this shortcut in the Settings menu in the ChatGPT macOS app.
