Astra for Law is GPT-6 Astra tailored for professional legal work. It combines a dedicated Legal Search Index with custom instructions for legal analysis and writing. It can help lawyers research legal questions based on client facts, develop arguments and deal terms, and consider the strongest objections.

Astra for Law uses the Legal Search Index to search U.S. case law, statutes, regulations, court rules, and administrative decisions. The index is updated with new sources daily. You can use the model to examine cases that weaken an argument or understand how a contract exception changes who bears the risk. Review the answers and cited sources before relying on them.

Astra for Law will initially be offered to selected law firms in the United States through Trusted Access, Codex, and will be coming soon to the API. Access is for eligible lawyers and people working under their supervision.

The model will appear as GPT-6 Astra Law in the model picker.
