Overview
You can work with ChatGPT directly in Slack or Microsoft Teams, or connect these apps to use them while working in ChatGPT. Each experience has its own setup and access settings.

Availability depends on the experience, your plan, and your organization’s settings.
@ChatGPT is available globally to Business and Enterprise users.
Use @ChatGPT in Slack or Microsoft Teams
Mention @ChatGPT in a supported conversation to ask for help. For example, you can ask it to draft a project update using the discussion in the thread.
Your administrator configures @ChatGPT’s instructions and connections to company tools. It uses the conversation context available to it and those configured tools to respond.
@ChatGPT runs through an account configured for the assistant. Your Slack or Teams account identifies you as the person making the request. Your administrator may require you to connect your ChatGPT account before using it.
Keep these access differences in mind:
Your personal ChatGPT conversation history, saved memories, and custom instructions do not automatically carry over.
@ChatGPT does not automatically inherit your access to files, apps, or private channels. Some requests require separate authorization to use apps connected to your own account.
Replies in shared conversations are visible to the participants. Consider that audience when sharing information or authorizing a request.

Use connected Slack or Microsoft Teams apps in ChatGPT
Connect Slack or Microsoft Teams to work with the app from a ChatGPT conversation. What ChatGPT can access or do depends on the app’s supported capabilities, the connected account’s permissions, and your organization’s settings.
For this experience, you work in ChatGPT using the account connected to the app. Connecting Slack or Microsoft Teams in ChatGPT does not, by itself, install or enable @ChatGPT in your organization’s Slack or Teams conversations.

Existing users of the ChatGPT app in Slack
@ChatGPT replaces the previous ChatGPT app experience in Slack, which lets you use your personal ChatGPT account from Slack’s sidebar.
Existing installations do not stop working immediately when @ChatGPT launches. Moving to the new experience requires migration guidance.
To use the new @ChatGPT in Business or Enterprise accounts, admins must upgrade their Slack app installation to support the additional scopes required for @ChatGPT to function.
Have a Slack admin navigate to the App details page for the ChatGPT app within the Slack admin dashboard. Approve the shown scope upgrade request.
