Overview
OpenAI Marketplace is a program that lets eligible enterprise customers apply part of their OpenAI commitment toward qualifying partner products built on OpenAI models.
The initial rollout is managed directly with OpenAI and participating partners.
How does OpenAI Marketplace work?
During the initial rollout:
OpenAI and the partner confirm whether the customer and proposed purchase qualify.
The customer contracts directly with the partner.
The partner invoices the customer.
OpenAI records the eligible amount against the customer’s OpenAI commitment.
Eligibility is specific to the customer, product, and purchase. A partner’s participation does not make every product it sells eligible.
Can I purchase a product directly through the Marketplace website?
The initial Marketplace experience supports product discovery and expressions of interest. Purchases are arranged directly with OpenAI and participating partners.
It does not include self-service checkout.
Who sends the invoice?
The partner contracts with and invoices the customer during the initial rollout. OpenAI handles eligibility and reconciliation of the eligible purchase against the customer’s OpenAI commitment.
Can I apply my entire OpenAI commitment to a partner product?
The program allows eligible customers to apply part of their commitment toward qualifying purchases. The amount that qualifies depends on the applicable program terms and purchase.
Is Marketplace the same as using my OpenAI tokens in a partner product?
These programs serve different purposes:
OpenAI Marketplace: Apply an eligible portion of your OpenAI commitment toward buying a qualifying partner product.
Using OpenAI tokens in a partner product: Use your organization’s OpenAI-funded inference inside a participating partner application.
Participation in one program does not automatically establish eligibility for the other.
How can I learn whether a purchase qualifies?
Contact your OpenAI account team or the participating partner to discuss the product and proposed purchase. Eligibility must be established for that purchase before it can count toward your OpenAI commitment.
