Here’s our general FAQ regarding Shared Links. This article focuses on the Shared Link experience, specifically for ChatGPT Team users.
What are shared links?
Shared links allow users in a ChatGPT Team workspace to generate a unique URL to a ChatGPT conversation. This link can be shared with other members of the same workspace to let them view the conversation.
What content can I share with teammates?
You can share most conversations with teammates. However, chats containing image files uploaded by users are currently not supported. You can share chats with images created by ChatGPT, however.
What happens if I share a link with someone outside my workspace?
If a shared link is opened by someone not in your ChatGPT Team workspace:
They will not see the shared chat
They will be redirected to their ChatGPT home page with a message indicating they don't have access
What happens when someone interacts with a shared conversation?
If a viewer enters a prompt or continues the shared chat:
A new, private conversation is created in their workspace
The new conversation is not shared by default
Can I un-share a chat or manage previously shared links?
Yes. To manage or un-share chats you’ve shared:
Go to Settings
Click Data Controls
Under the “Shared Links” section, click Manage
In the modal, you can:
Click the trash icon to un-share a chat
Click the chat icon to view it
If a link is un-shared and another teammate tries to open it, they will see an error and be redirected to a blank chat window.
Can I disable shared links entirely?
Yes. Workspace Admins can disable shared links at the workspace level.
