The ChatGPT Pro plan enables scaled access to the best of OpenAI’s models and tools. This plan includes unlimited access to our smartest model, OpenAI o1, as well as to o1-mini, GPT-4o, and advanced voice. It also includes o1 pro mode, exclusive to Pro users, a version of o1 that uses more compute to think harder and provide even better answers to the hardest problems. In the future, we expect to add more powerful, compute-intensive productivity features to this plan.

Understanding Unlimited Usage

The ChatGPT Pro plan offers unlimited access to our o1, o1-mini, and ChatGPT-4o models. However, usage must adhere to our Terms of Use, which prohibits, among other things:

  • Abusive usage, such as automatically or programmatically extracting data.

  • Sharing your account credentials or making your account available to anyone else.

  • Reselling access or using ChatGPT to power third-party services.

We have guardrails in place to help prevent misuse and are always working to improve our systems. This may occasionally involve a temporary restriction on your usage. We will inform you when this happens, and if you think this might be a mistake, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team at help.openai.com using the widget at the bottom-right of this page. If policy-violating behavior is not found, your access will be restored.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription anytime.

If you are on chatgpt.com:

  1. Click your profile icon or initials in the top right corner of the page

  2. Select “Settings” from the drop down menu

  3. Within Settings, select “Subscription”

  4. Click “Manage” to cancel your subscription

  5. This will take you to a Stripe checkout page, where you can click Cancel Plan.

Your subscription will end the day after your next billing date. You can continue using ChatGPT Pro until then. To avoid being charged for the next billing period, make sure to cancel at least 24 hours before the next billing date.

If you subscribed via Apple Subscriptions or Google Play, you’ll need to visit those services directly on mobile to cancel. You can’t cancel those subscriptions from the ChatGPT web interface.


What is the refund policy?

If you live in the EU, UK, or Turkey, you’re eligible for a refund if you cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase. Please send us a message via our chat widget in the bottom right of your screen in our Help Center, select the "Billing" option and select "I need a refund."

How can I request a VAT tax refund?

Please send us a message via our chat widget in the bottom right of your screen in our Help Center, select the "Billing" option and then select "VAT exemption request". Be sure to include your billing information (name, email, and billing address) so we can process your request faster.

Can I update my ChatGPT Team account to ChatGPT Pro?

We do not currently support updating from Team to Pro.

Users with ChatGPT Team accounts can cancel their account and update their account to ChatGPT Pro once their subscription ends.

My account got terminated. Can I get a refund?

If we terminate your account for violating our Terms of Use, you still owe any unpaid fees, and will not be given a refund for any remaining credit or prepaid service. You will not be continuously charged if your account is terminated.

How do I request that my data not be used for model improvements?

To disable model training, navigate to your profile icon on the bottom-left of the page and select Settings > Data Controls, and disable “Improve the model for everyone." While this is disabled, new conversations won’t be used to train our models.

Where can I find my invoice for ChatGPT Pro?

If you subscribed on chatgpt.com, you can view your invoices by following these steps:

  1. Click your profile icon or initials in the top right corner of the page

  2. Click “Settings”

  3. Within Settings, select “Subscription”

  4. Select “Manage” on the Payments row to go to Stripe

  5. You can find your invoice history in Stripe

We only send an invoice automatically when you first subscribe via email. You will need to access any additional invoices through your account.

Are alternate payment options available?

We accept payment via credit card or debit card. We do not support alternate payment options. Pre-paid cards / gift cards are not supported.

Is the OpenAI API included in the ChatGPT Pro subscription?

No, the OpenAI API and ChatGPT Pro subscription are billed separately. The API has its own pricing, which can be found at https://openai.com/pricing. The ChatGPT Pro subscription covers usage on chatgpt.com only.

Is there an annual plan available?

Currently, we do not support annual billing or the option to pay for multiple months in advance for ChatGPT subscriptions. ChatGPT subscriptions are billed on a monthly basis from the subscription start date.

What types of files can I upload to o1?

Currently, o1 supports images but does not yet support other file types such as PDF, CSV, Word docs, etc.

Can o1 generate images?

No, to generate images switch over to GPT-4o to use DALL-E.
