What is ChatGPT Plus?
ChatGPT Plus is a subscription plan for ChatGPT. It offers availability even when demand is high, faster response speed, and priority access to new features.
Is the free subscription still available?
Yes, free access to ChatGPT is still provided, either by accessing ChatGPT while logged out or subscribing to our Free plan. By offering this subscription pricing, we will be able to help support free access availability to as many people as possible. See our general ChatGPT article for more information on our free offering.
How can I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription anytime. To do this:
Click your profile icon or initials in the top right corner of chatgpt.com
Select My Plan from the dropdown menu.
On the next page, select Manage my subscription at the bottom.
This will take you to a Stripe checkout page, where you can click Cancel Plan.
Your subscription will end the day after your next billing date. You can continue using ChatGPT Plus until then. To avoid being charged for the next billing period, make sure to cancel at least 24 hours before the next billing date. Keep in mind, subscription fees are non-refundable.
Note: If you subscribed via Apple Subscriptions or Google Play, you’ll need to visit those services directly on mobile to cancel. You can’t cancel those subscriptions from the ChatGPT web interface.
What is the refund policy?
If you live in the EU, UK, or Turkey, you’re eligible for a refund if you cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase. Please send us a message via our chat widget in the bottom right of your screen in our Help Center, select the "Billing" option and select "I need a refund".
How can I request a VAT tax refund?
Please send us a message via our chat widget in the bottom right of your screen in our Help Center, select the "Billing" option and then select "VAT exemption request". Be sure to include your billing information (name, email, and billing address) so we can process your request faster.
My account got terminated. Can I get a refund?
If we terminate your account for violating our Terms of Use, you still owe any unpaid fees, and will not be given a refund for any remaining credit or prepaid service.
How can I opt out my data to improve model performance?
Where can I find my invoice for ChatGPT Plus?
You can view your invoices by following these steps:

Select My Plan from the dropdown menu.
On the next page, choose Manage my subscription.
We don’t send invoices automatically via email, so you’ll need to access them through your account.
Are alternate payment options available?
We accept payment via credit card or debit card. We do not support alternate payment options. Pre-paid cards / gift cards are not supported.
I want to use ChatGPT Plus with sensitive data. Who can view my conversations?

Is the ChatGPT API included in the ChatGPT Plus subscription?
No, the ChatGPT API and ChatGPT Plus subscription are billed separately. The API has its own pricing, which can be found at https://openai.com/pricing. The ChatGPT Plus subscription covers usage on chatgpt.com only and costs $20/month.
I am using the free subscription of ChatGPT so does that mean I can use the ChatGPT API for free too?
No, API usage is it's own separate cost. The ChatGPT API is not available for free. See our Pricing page for details.
Are there any usage limits applied on my account?
As of May 13th 2024, Plus users will be able to send 80 messages every 3 hours on GPT-4o. and 40 messages every 3 hours on GPT-4. The message cap for a user in a ChatGPT Team workspace is approximately twice that of ChatGPT Plus.
Please note that unused messages do not accumulate (i.e. if you wait 6 hours, you will not have 80 messages available to use for the next 3 hours on GPT-4).
GPT-4o mini does not have limits on the Plus tier.
Plus user have access to 50 messages a week with OpenAI o1-preview and 50 messages a day with OpenAI o1-mini to start with our research preview.
In certain cases for Plus users, we may dynamically adjust the message limit based on available capacity in order to prioritize making GPT-4 accessible to the widest number of people.
Is there an annual plan available?
Currently, we do not support annual billing or the option to pay for multiple months in advance for ChatGPT Plus subscriptions. ChatGPT Plus subscriptions are billed on a monthly basis from the subscription start date.
